Master Chan is hosting a two day Wing Chun Seminar at Rey's Wing Chun Academy in
San Jose, California. Open to students and instructors alike, all participants will
receive intensive training as Master Chan shares his insights and in depth knowledge
of the techniques and theory of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Master Chan grew up and received Martial Arts training in Hong Kong, China. He moved to America in
1975 and started teaching Chinese Martial Arts in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Master Chan has spent many
years studying Ip Man lineage Wing Chun under Ip Man’s two sons, Ip Chun and Ip Ching. He often
returns to Hong Kong to continue his exploration of Chinese Martial Arts. Master Chan is also a certified
Wing Chun Instructor through the Hong Kong Ving Tsun Association.
Master Chan owns and operates his own Martial Arts School in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He teaches
traditional Ip Man lineage Wing Chun, in addition to teaching Jow Ga and Yang’s Tai Chi.
Master Chan travels frequently to many states in America as well as Brazil and India, to share the Martial
Arts knowledge with his disciples.

Day One - Saturday, February 27th, 2010:
Sil Lim Tau 10am-11:30am
This class introduces the theoretical foundation of how
Wing Chun techniques are structured. Wing Chun techniques
included sixteen hand techniques and foot works.
Develop a strong root to prepare for the advanced Wing
Chun training including Chi Sau and the Wooden Dummy.
Chum Kiu 1pm-2:30pm
This class mainly focus on the interpretation of the Chum
Kiu’s Yil Ma (waist and stance), including body weighting,
shifting and stepping. Also introduce various footwork to
develop the transportation system to make combat more
effective, and to maintain lightning speed without sacrifice
the power.
Private Lesson 2:30-3:30pm Saturday & Sunday
Spend 1/2 an hour with Master Chan to refine your Wing
Chun skill. This special attention can help you learn and
understand Wing Chun more indepth.

Day Two - Sunday, February 28th, 2010
Chi Sau 10am-11:30am
Single hand Chi Sau - Fundamentals of Wing Chun through
the use of various hand techniques, experience actual contact
with an opponent; Don Chi Sau introduces the very basic reaction
drills and helps to develop reflexes after you have
engaged with your opponent when applying techniques
learned from Sil Lim Tau.
Two hand Chi Sau - Provides the students with an overview of
the principles of Sil Lim Tau and Chum Kiu techniques. Learn
to apply Wing Chun sixteen hand techniques in Chi Sau training.
Two hand Chi Sau is the most advanced and powerful tool
in Wing Chun to develop the valuable skill of sensing your
opponent’s intention.
Instructor Training 1pm-2:30pm
